Communities
Our core communities
The Digital Health Networks is made up of many different communities who all have an interest in digital health, and working together through collaboration and sharing best practices to make positive changes as to the way digital technologies and data improve healthcare services.
At the core of our community are three foundation networks:
- Chief Clinical Information Officer Network
- Health Chief Information Officer Network
- Chief Nursing Information Officer Network
These networks have grown over the years to reach incredible numbers and have achieved positive change across the health and care sector through various activities and outputs. Each of the networks are dedicated to promoting the development of current and future digital leaders across all health and social care organisations, through a combination of knowledge resources, events, and online community and collaboration tools.
More recent networks launched include:
- ICS Digital Council
The ICS Digital Council is a two-year project, to build and support a small, focused leadership network that will support the effective use of digital and data across ICSs, promote the exchange of best practice, and enable the development of the new types of digital skills required in this changed landscape.
- NextGen Network
The launch of this network builds on the success of the Digital Health Future Digital Leaders Bursary Programme, which provides a number of future digital leaders each year access to the Summer Schools. We were keen to create a community for all future digital leaders which provided support in their career pathways through dedicated activity and access to senior digital leaders within health care.

ICS Digital Council
The ICS Digital Council was formed for those involved in leading digital transformation in the newest health and care organisations the Integrated Care Systems, their Integrated Care Boards, and the Integrated Care Providers.
The Council aims to be a trusted and influential partner in advancing the digital maturity of these overlapping groups, ultimately transforming health and care delivery, and improving health outcomes for all.
Uniquely, it offers a safe space to discuss opportunities and risks in an open “non-hierarchical” way where all stakeholders’ voices can be heard and listened to. It is aiming to be an honest collective voice for promoting good work and calling out concerns which members identify in their shared agendas.
Our membership is open to those who represent digital leaders for the ICS/ICB/ICP community in all 42 ICS areas, but we intend to remain small enough to be able to be agile and to take opportunities and manage risks as they arise.
